Time Travels for Children

Time travel is a role-play where play, work and drama can help your group experience what life was like at the Ironworks about a century and a half ago. We can offer tailor-made programs according to your needs or the groups requirements. Our time-travel programmes at Fiskars museum are suitable for children aged 6 to 10.

Good to know before a time travel tour

Group size is limited to a maximum of 12 children. If you wish to participate in time travel with a larger group, we recommend dividing the group in half and coming in two separate detachments. There is plenty to see and experience in Fiskars while part of the group is on a time travel. Specific information can be found on the Fiskars Village website.

A teacher or another adult must always accompany the children in time travel and be responsible for the group for the entire duration of the visit. Group leaders are exempted from paying admission fees.

Time travel usually lasts about two hours. Therefore, it is recommended to reserve enough time for the visit. If the schedule includes baking, groups can arrive at the earliest at 9 a.m., because it takes at least two hours to fire the woodfired oven for baking.

Dining is often included in the time travels with bread and juice or fruits served. You can also bring your own food. Please advise us at registration for time travel about this and we will set the table. Also remember to inform us about any food allergies.
