Fiskars Steam Locomotive Pikku-Pässi since 1891
In the locomotive shed in Fiskars, you can see one of the museum’s most fascinating objects, Finland’s oldest preserved narrow‑gauge steam locomotive, “Pikku-Pässi”. The locomotive has lately been restored to running condition and returned to its original colour scheme.
The locomotive, made by Krauss, was ordered from Germany and operated between 1891 and 1952 on the route between Fiskars and the harbour in Skuru. With its wagons, the locomotive transported raw materials to the ironworks and finished products, such as Fiskars ploughs, to the harbour. On various occasions, the inhabitants of the village were also allowed to ride on the train.
