Help us build a new home for Fiskars’ Pikku-Pässi – Finland’s oldest surviving narrow-gauge steam locomotive!
Why do we need your help? Pikku-Pässi has undergone extensive restoration and is now ready to return to Fiskars Village. To protect and showcase this unique locomotive, we are constructing a special locomotive depot next to the former knife factory.
The Locomotive Depot – A Tribute to Our History The locomotive depot will be constructed of solid bricks to blend seamlessly with the historical ironworks environment. Large windows will allow visitors to admire Pikku-Pässi around the clock. This is not just a shelter for the locomotive but also a new learning environment and an important part of the museum’s public activities.
Your Donation Makes a Difference You can participate in our fundraising campaign from August 1st to October 31st 2024 with any amount you wish. The goal of the campaign is to raise €10,000. Every donation, big or small, is invaluable to us. Did you know that with a hundred euros, you can donate a pallet of bricks to the locomotive shed? Together, we can achieve our goal and preserve an important part of our shared history. The fundraising permit number is RA/2024/1090. All funds raised will be used in full for the construction costs of the locomotive shed.
For more information about the Pelastetaan Pässi- project and the fundraising campaign, visit our website pelastetaanpassi.fi or contact us directly. Fiskars Museum is maintained by Fiskars Hembygdsförening r.f., which works tirelessly to preserve and promote our local history.
Together, we can give Pikku-Pässi a home that honors its history and preserves its legacy for future generations.
Thank you for your support! – Pikku-Pässi
