Open House at Collection Centre Leira November 7th at 10am to 2pm

Now you have a unique opportunity to go behind the scenes of museum work and discover Leira Collections Centre and the museum professionals who work there.

Throughout the day, you will have the chance to meet staff representing different areas of museum expertise. Among those present will be professionals working with photographs, archives, and museum objects, as well as specialists in archaeology and building conservation.

What is actually preserved in museum collections?

Leira houses the history of the Western Uusimaa region: everyday life of the past, traditional craftsmanship, people’s stories, and technological development. Here, the objects tell stories of bygone times, of people, and of life itself.

Come and be inspired and fascinated by the past! You can, for example, learn how carpenters once joined chair legs together, explore historical objects, discover more about our regional history, and experience a genuine sense of nostalgia.

Short guided tours will also be available during the day:

Guided tour in Swedish: 11:30 a.m. – 12:00 noon
Guided tour in Finnish: 12:30 p.m. – 1:00 p.m.

In addition, Raseborg Museum will be hosting a pop-up café serving coffee and light refreshments.
