Guided Tours
Fiskars museum arranges guided tours in the museum exhibitions and on the museum premises. We offer tours in the ironworks area as well. Don’t hesitate to be in touch in advance if you have any wishes concerning the content of the tour!
Guided Tour in The Museum
The clerk Laura Holmström realized her dream of collecting pictures, artefacts and memories from the district, and exhibited them in the Museum as early as in 1949.
During the guided tour, the basic exhibition and the theme exhibition are presented.
The theme and duration of the guided tour may vary slightly depending on the season and your preferences. A visit to the Locomotive Shed can be added for a small additional fee (Starting 15.6.2026). In that case please allow at least 90 minutes for the tour.

A guided tour in the Ironworks
A guided tour in the atmospheric Fiskars Ironworks area. During the tour you will learn about the history of the Ironworks, from its founding to the present day.
You will also learn about the historical buildings, and hear stories about life in the Ironworks. A visit to the Steam Train “Pikku-Pässi” Locomotive Shed, Fiskars’ newest building, is included in the tour.

Guided Visit to the Locomotive Shed
Visit the locomotive shed and hear our guide talk about Finland’s oldest preserved steam locomotive, Fiskars “Pikku-Pässi”, and the narrow-gauge railway that once ran from Fiskars to Pohjankuru Harbour.

Guided Tour in the Collection Center Leira
Join us on a nostalgic journey through the fascinating history of Western Uusimaa.
The Leira Collections Centre houses the object, textile, photographic and archival collections of museums and foundations across Western Uusimaa. Since 2018, parts of these collections have also been accessible to the public.
During the guided tour, you will have the opportunity to explore the collections and hear the stories behind the objects and the people connected to them. At the same time, you will gain insight into how cultural heritage is preserved and safeguarded for future generations.
The 6,113 m² building served as the Leiras pharmaceutical factory from 1974 to 2009. Today, it provides a unique setting where the region’s history meets contemporary museum work.

Good to know before the visit!
Groups are welcomed to the museum! To make the guided tour as successful as possible, we have limited the group size to a approximately 20 people. For larger groups, we recommend that the group is divided, and the ensuing tour is conducted in smaller detachments. The guidance fee depends on the number of people in the groups.
