The Pohja Local History Archive was founded in 1991 in Fiskars village. The archive’s mission is to collect and preserve local historical records from the entire area that formerly comprised the Municipality of Pohja (Swedish: Pojo) in Uusimaa, southern Finland.

The archive preserves records from local associations and organizations, private individuals, businesses, schools, and farms—representing more than 130 archival record creators. Most of the material dates from the 20th century, while the oldest records are from the 18th century.

Please note: Archival records may only be consulted on-site at the archive. Unfortunately, we do not have any open databases or digitized archival material available. The archival indexes are available in Swedish and Finnish and can be found on the Swedish- and Finnish-language versions of this website. Most of the archival material is written in either Swedish or Finnish.
