A Slow Food festival is arranged in Fiskars 30th of September to 1st of October close to the museum. During Saturday we are baking traditional karelian pies in the museum bakery from 11am to 3pm. On the museum area you can also follow a work display in how to make biochar. The process is similar to the production of charcole in traditional coal kilns, where logs are burnt slowly with reduced oxygen supply. Biochar can be used for example in the garden to improve the soil, to store nutrition or as ground cover.
During Saturday we have free entrance to the museum exhibitions!
From April 2nd onwards, the museum will be open from Wednesday to Sunday, from 11 AM to 4 PM.
