Living History

The purpose of the project “Living History for Care Homes” was to produce a photo exhibition and memorial material for the care home Villa Anemone in Karjaa. The project was completed in December 2020. Later, other care homes in Raasepori have a chance to sign on for the exhibition as it can be turned into a travelling exhibit.

Photo Exhibition and Suitcase with Memories

The photographs in the exhibition are mainly from the 1930s to the 1950s when the occupants of the care house were young. The suitcase contains objects that evoke memories. The aim with the project is that the nursing staff and next of kin can utilize the material to activate the residents of Villa Anemone.

Project implementation was carried out by the volunteer group of the Fiskars Museum entitled “Youth in the 1950s”. This group is made up of people who all lived their childhood or youth in Raasepori in the 1940s and 1950s. The group convenes regularly at the Museum under the guidance of museum staff. This project enjoys the financial support of the City of Raasepori and the “Stiftelsen till förmån för Finlandssvenska kvinnor och hem” foundation.
